I was really impressed by Toqué. It’s super expensive, but really worth the experience, at least to try once. The staff is super nice and was very friendly, the service was perfect. It’s everything you can expect from a super expensive fine-dining restaurant. 😍

I can totally understand why it ranked 2nd best restaurant in all of Canada!

We ordered the 7-course tasting menu (136$CAD) and our meal lasted 4 hours haha. I honestly didn’t feel the time passing (I was in good company too!). It’s really interesting because the tasting menu dishes are different from à la carte, so it’s kind of a surprise course, you don’t really know what to expect. They ask you for food allergies though so they can adapt the recipe should you be allergic to anything.

I only ordered a cocktail (it was delicious!) and my dinner companions ordered the wine pairings (80$CAD / 5 glasses). Apparently, it was delicious and very satisfying as well. The sommeliers were very interesting and friendly.

I recommend getting the foie gras because it was excellent. One of the best I’ve ever ate, and a friend who doesn’t like foie gras all that much said he really liked it too. The pine tree flavoured dessert sounded weird at first, but gosh it was amazing. Both desserts were amazingly good.

I loved the food at the Toqué, but given the prices, it’s definitely not somewhere we can return to soon. The lunch option is much cheaper though, so maybe that’s another excuse to return! 😁
