Bellroy Travel Wallet review

It's now been more than 2 months since I've bought the Bellroy. I had the occasion to travel with it and I love it! One note though: the leather is quite fragile and gets scratch marks very very quickly.

My second purchase is a decent wallet. The first decent wallet I’ve ever owned!

My wallet history is...err. My first wallets ever were Quiksilver wallets (again, not girly, one got stolen, one was lost), and I also used a Muji card case for a couple of years, and a super bulky Domo-kun wallet. The past year, I've been using a Mighty Wallet. It seemed like a great idea at first but the more you put in, the bulkier it gets and it never returns to its original super flat state. Plus, the colors are quite worn out and now it just looks super cheap and ridiculous (pictured at the top). The past few months, I haven't really been using a wallet, I'm simply shoving everything in my pockets.

I was looking for a slim leather wallet and the first Google result is Bellroy. I wasn’t convinced at first because I really don’t like their wallet with black leather and blue stitches but they had other colors and… I saw THE wallet. The travel wallet made me giggle and drool! Materialist much? Ok, the price made me cry… I don’t regret it though. The other options were very slim wallets. more like card carriers but I didn’t want that. It’s too messy and not comfortable to use in my opinion.

The travel wallet allows quick access to everything and I finally have something to carry my passport AND my driving licence. (The driving licence in France is at a really unconventional format, it never fits any wallet. I think French people have special wallets to carry this.) The passport was the biggest issue because I travel often and it’s often… God knows where in one of my bags pockets. It also creates the last minute “Do I have my passport” fear.

I’ve already spoiled myself with the packaging because I’ve read so many reviews on the Internet before buying it so I knew what to expect. However, the wallet is bigger than I thought! Not surprising given it’s supposed to hold a passport. The pen is a really really nice thought, and it even comes with a refill. I really like the smell and feel of the leather! It’s so soft!
