Cushy CMS: a very simple CMS

Today, it's all about WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, and we forget about simpler things. I'm WordPress #1 fan but when I discovered CushyCMS, I couldn't help but think about how damn easy it is to use and how useful this could be for freelancers who design websites for people who don't know how to use other tools like WordPress ! (Believe me, they exist). Sure this can't be used for blogs and advanced functions but for little businesses websites, it's already very good.

The concept is very simple. Let's say you design a static websites for a client, who doesn't need all the fancy stuff, just some simple website he can edit later. There is a problem because he doesn't know anything about HTML.

And here comes CushyCMS. While developping his website, you just have to add class="cushycms" to the elements you want editable. Crazy simple no ? Then you just create an account on CushyCMS and add a website:

Add a site to CushyCMS

You then assign the page you want to edit by selecting it in the list of files on your server and you're ready to go! All the areas where you put class="cushycms" will show up and be editable:

Now you can add editors to this website and select the pages they're allowed to edit.

Crazy simple! :) And it's free.

For web designers who are not that comfortable dealing with PHP code, CouchCMS (http://www.couchcms.com/) is the perfect fit.

It is as simple as Cushy yet much, much more flexible.
Is free for non-commercial and personal sites.
